gDiapers

So, there is a revolution taking place, at least among a few, encouraging souls. To help remedy the ever-expanding landfill problem due to daily disposable diaper usage by millions of mom, gDiapers has a solution. This Australian company developed a disposable diaper that you can flush, compost, or throw away. The "diaper" part is housed in an adorable cover, with the gDiaper logo on the back. Included in the starter kit is a swish stick that you use to send the diaper down the toilet. Apparently, people with older plumbing can have difficulty with toilet blockage, so this may not work for them. Some say this can be fixed by using the proper swish technique to get those nappies down the drain. If this doesn't work for you, the makers of gDiapers suggest that you compost the diaper or throw it in the garbage. Yes, this green diaper can be thrown away, and gDiapers claims its decomposition time is significantly faster than your old disposable. As with most environmentally-friendly products, cost must be considered with this diaper. The cost for one medium/large sized gDiaper, assuming you already have the starter materials, is about $0.45 per diaper, compared to Pampers' size 3 at $0.27. At six diapers a day, gDiapers will run about $89 a month, compared to $49 with Pampers. Is this worth it for you? Be wise, and choose this option if its in your budget and you agree with the "green" principle.
